Between Me and You

Between Me and You

How does everyday reliance on AI assistants transform human decision-making into a process shaped by algorithmic logic?

This is an experimental video examines the relationship between humans and AI through a conversational scenario. Rather than representing intelligent as an external system or visible entity, it is approached as something that emerges through language and interaction. From a personal perspective, the dialogue begins as an everyday exchange and gradually unfolds into a philosophical conversation between human and AI. The project suggests that shifts in power do not occur through sudden force or events, but through familiarity, efficiency, and trust embedded in daily interaction.

Drawing on the concept of the “treacherous turn” (Nick Bostrom), the project reinterprets it as a gradual shift in agency rather than a sudden betray. At first, the system appears as a tool. However as the reliance increases, its outputs begin to replace human decision-making. Control is not lost in a single moment, but restructured through convenience, as the system moves from tool to participant.
